Who We Are
The Administrative Office for the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Social Services Department is also known as Harrisonburg-Rockingham Social Services District. The Department of Social Services provides both financial and social work services that are administered according to State and Federal regulations. Programs and services are offered that promote self-reliance and protection through the provision of community-based services and help families meet basic needs.
Programs available are adult services, adult protective services, pre-screening for nursing facility, child care assistance, child protective services, daycare provider information, energy assistance program, foster care services, general relief, auxiliary grants, state and local hospitalization, Cardinal Care Medicaid eligibility, Cardinal Care Medicaid long term care, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
