Who We Are
Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office will assist citizens in forming a neighborhood watch for their area. A speaker will come to the neighborhood and help get you started and maintain your group so that you will achieve the maximum benefits.

The Sheiff's office also offers the File of Life program. File of Life is a program designed to protect seniors. The File of Life is designed as an information packet for the elderly (especially those living alone) to inform rescue personnel of emergency contacts, medical conditions and medications, if emergency services are dispatched to their residence. The information card is to be completed, placed into a magnetic sleeve and put on the refrigerator. Mecklenburg 911 is then informed that the occupant has a File of Life card inside and can save valuable minutes when rescue personnel arrive at the home.
File of Life cards are available at the Sheriff's office.
Other programs include installation of peep holes and the Shredder program.
