Who We Are

Alexandria Victim/Witness Assistance program provides outreach to victims.  Other services include making  referrals to social service agencies for emergency, financial, and medical aid to victims; aiding victims in filing for Crime Victim's Compensation; and providing community education concerning crime victimization.

In cases where an arrest is made, this office makes contact with victims prior to the court date and answer any questions they may have about the court process. Provide information about and assist victims with filing for the Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund. Provide the victim and family members with court accompaniment the day of the hearing. Provide victims with victim impact statements and assist them with filling out the statements, when requested.

Convenient to a bus. Not convenient to a subway stop. Partially accessible to persons with disabilities. English, Spanish, Agency provides an interpreter to non-English speaking persons for court appearances.}
