Who We Are

Leesburg/Loudoun County Victim Witness Program gives aid to victims of crime with emotional support, practical aid and advocacy.  Counseling and referral to local social service agencies are provided.

Coordinates victims'/witnesses' schedules to minimize court appearances. Administers and monitors victim compensation and restitution. Provides support to victims at hospital, court, etc. Administers and monitors the Victim Impact Statement.
The Virginia Compensating Victims of Crime Act became effective on July 1, 1977, to pay unreimbursed expenses of victims who suffer personal physical injury or death as a result of a crime. The program is funded entirely by fees collected from persons convicted of felonies and certain classes of misdemeanors. No general revenue is used to support this fund. It is administered by the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission.
