Who We Are

The Department of Psychiatry offers a full continuum of programs and services to meet the mental health needs of Richmond geriatric residents and the referral needs of clinicians from around the Commonwealth of Virginia and the surrounding region. 

The VCU Medical Center's Geriatric Psychiatry Program is qualified to handle psychiatric disorders in the senior population, including the early stages of dementia, Alzheimer's Disease, anxiety and depression.  The multidisciplinary team consisting of a geriatric psychiatrist, physician, neuropsychologist, nurse practitioner, social worker, dietitian, chaplain and pharmacist provide care, throughout diagnosis, treatment and follow up.
