Audio Descriptive Services

The Audio Description Services of New Vision allows persons attending Mill Mountain Theater productions or Opera Roanoke productions to have an audio description of what is happening on stage. The audio description system is a small radio station in essence, with the narrator backstage talking into the cordless headset worn by low-vision or blind audience members. The narrator acts as the eyes of the audience and describes sets, costumes and action that occurs. Individuals requesting this service must contact the theater in advance.
