Product Safety Information & Hotline

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of injury or death associated with the use of the thousands of consumer products under the agency's jurisdiction.  The Commission protects the public from products that pose a fire, electrical, chemical or mechanical hazard and works to ensure the safety of consumer products.

Consumers may call Hotline at 800-638-2772 to obtain product-related safety information including recall information, to report an unsafe product, or to report a product-related injury. The Commission does not act on all complaints and does not cover automobiles, food or drugs, cosmetics, financial matters or dissatisfaction with products or services.  Visit the website for information about recalled products.
