Assisted-Rental Housing, Calvert Square

Calvert Square is a public housing complex with 309 units on 19 acres. Public housing, also known as subsidized housing or assisted housing, provides decent rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly and persons with disabilities. Housing ranges from single-family houses to high-rise apartments for seniors. NRHA's Housing operations division administers apartments in 16 Norfolk neighborhoods and provides a variety of support services to help residents of public housing improve their lives.

Provides the community with a variety of sources and support such as the Family Resource Center, Youth Center, Elderly Programs and the Early Childhood Education Program. The Center is a unique partnership between several public and private agencies.
