Who We Are

Hopewell Redevelopment and Housing Authority (HRHA) owns and manages 360 Public Housing units located throughout Hopewell, VA that provide affordable rents to lower income households, seniors and persons with disabilities. Generally tenants pay 30 percent of their income as rent.

Resident rent is a fraction of their household's income. No extended care or medical services are provided. Transportation provided to social or recreational appointments. Hairstylist/barber on site, as well as social worker. Handicapped and/or disabled persons also eligible for housing. Average waiting period is 6 months. No fee to be on list.   Public housing communities include Davisville and Bland Court; Thomas Rolfe Court; Kippax Place; Piper Square and Langston Park.

Housing opportunities are provided to low and moderately low income families, the Housing Choice Voucher program, the low-income public housing and other grant-funded initiatives.  Check to see if waiting list is open or closed.
